FAQ’s

Can I be hypnotised against my will or made to do things I do not want to do?

No, absolutely not.  All hypnosis is self-hypnosis and in fact we pass through this several times a day ourselves, for instance whilst driving your car and arriving at the destination to find you cannot remember part of the journey or when you ‘zone out’ whilst watching a film on TV or read a book.  If the therapist were to ask you to do something that you were uncomfortable with you would simply open your eyes.  You also remember everything that has been said to you.

Can I get stuck in a hypnotic state?

No, even during a zoom session if we lost internet connection you would simply open your eyes after a few minutes.

Can you control me?

No, if you were asked by the therapist to do something you did not want to do, you would simply open your eyes and remember everything that was said to you.  This is unlike Stage hypnosis where the hypnotist narrows down his audience into the most receptable people to work with, the most extrovert of those people often will go along with his requests on stage.

How many sessions will I require?

This totally depends upon the issues presented.  As a minimum the normal amount would be 2-3 sessions.

Can you treat my child/children?

Yes, Young children do need to be accompanied by a responsible adult during treatment.  Children under the age of 16 will require written parental consent.

Do you have disability access?

Disability access is available at Iwood Health, Wrington, North Somerset http://www.iwoodhealth.uk  I am also able to offer home visits by arrangement.
